Is that really Alzheimer’s Disease?

The first time some people forget where they left their keys, they immediately fear that they have Alzheimer's Disease. In this presentation, participants will learn about nine conditions and diseases that can mimic the memory-related symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease, but are not. The definition of Alzheimer's disease and symptoms of its three stages will also be provided during this session.

  • Identify physical conditions and disorders with symptoms that could be mistaken for Alzheimer’s Disease 
  • Understand the definition of Alzheimer’s
  • Learn the symptoms of each of the three Alzheimer’s three stages

 

Speaker

Loretta VeneyLoretta Veney is a motivational teacher and trainer. Throughout her life, she has chronicled family events through journals, photos and videos seeking to capture every moment. After learning that her beloved Mother Doris was the first female in her family to suffer from dementia, Loretta began documenting the details of doctor visits, and recording people, places and things as a substitute for lost memory. She is also the author of Refreshment for the Caregivers Spirit (2017) Colors Flowing from My Mind (2019) and Being My Mom's Mom: A Journey Through Dementia from a Daughter's Perspective (2019).
