Baltimore, Maryland: Implementing a Citywide Strategy for Addressing the Impacts of Trauma

The Elijah Cummings Healing City Act, which became law in February 2020, led to the creation of a task force charged with developing strategies to reduce trauma across Baltimore. The legislation was created to institute best practices and facilitate trauma-informed education and training across all city departments and agencies as mandated by the act. This article examines how the Baltimore public library system is making policy changes to integrate trauma-informed care approaches.
