The Great Lakes MHTTC offers this presentation for mental health and other behavioral health professionals in HHS Region 5: IL, IN, MI, MN, OH, and WI.

Emotion Regulation Skills is the third in a series of seven DBT modules that will be presented every three weeks. This module will include understanding and naming emotions,
changing emotions you want to change, reducing vulnerability to emotion mind, and managing really difficult emotions. 

Learning Objectives

Participants will:

  • Learn how to label and regulate emotions as well as reduce overall vulnerability to emotion mind 
  • Be able to teach the emotion regulation skills to their clients
     

Audience

Mental health clinicians, community outreach workers, SUD counselors, crisis workers.

Melissa SkrzypchakMelissa Skrzypchak MSSW, LCSW has over 18 years of experience in partnering with her clients to help them build their best lives. She is one of only a few therapists, in the state of WI, with the DBT Linehan Board of Certification. In addition, she has had intensive training in Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for persons who have overcontrol tendencies associated with chronic, treatment-resistant depression and anxiety.
