ASPIN Awarded Grant to Address Trauma, Train Paraprofessionals

Affiliated Service Providers of Indiana (ASPIN) is excited to announce we have been awarded 2.2 million dollars over four years to prepare paraprofessionals to work with families who may be coping with physical, mental, and emotional trauma that can lead to substance use and behavioral health disorders.

Health Resource and Service Administration (HRSA) has awarded Affiliated Service Providers in Indiana, Inc. (ASPIN) 2.2 million dollars over four years to prepare paraprofessionals to work with families who may be coping with physical, mental, and emotional trauma that can lead to substance use and behavioral health disorders. This program will include a paid Department of Labor (DOL) certified CHW apprenticeship program.

The ASPIN Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Community Health Workers (CHW) will train participants to provide support for families, children, adolescents, and transitional-aged youth that are at risk for behavioral health disorders, domestic violence, and substance use disorders. 

ASPIN will expand existing paraprofessional certificate programs for Community Health Workers (CHW) by adding an Opioid Basics certificate, Chronic Care Paraprofessional certificate and an Opioid Impacted Family Support certificate.
