Now available! National Health Service Corps New Site Application

The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) is currently accepting applications to approve new health care facilities in their network. By becoming an NHSC-approved site, eligible clinicians at your health care facility can apply for an NHSC loan repayment award. You can also recruit NHSC scholarship recipients to work for you. In addition, NHSC-approved sites have access to multiple HRSA resources including the Health Workforce Connector, HRSA Virtual Job Fairs, the NHSC Site Network, Primary Care Offices, and HRSA’s Division of Regional Operations.

If your facility provides substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, you are heavily encouraged to apply. NHSC’s Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Workforce and Rural Community Loan Repayment Programs are specifically for qualifying health care professionals who provide SUD treatment, and Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) scores are not a determining factor for receiving the award.

Interested health care facilities should read the Site Reference Guide to learn more about how eligible health care sites can become NHSC-approved and enjoy the benefits of this unique membership. The application cycle has been extended, and will close on August 4, 11:59 p.m. ET.

Eligible sites include health care facilities that provide outpatient, ambulatory and primary health care services (medical, dental, and behavioral and/or substance abuse treatment) to populations residing in high-need urban and rural areas. Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) are the only eligible inpatient facilities and must be affiliated with an NHSC-approved outpatient clinic.
