This webinar hosted by the Southeast MHTTC will examine suicide prevention in health care settings. It will compare progress that has been made in reducing cardiovascular disease (CVD) deaths with the lack of progress in reducing suicide deaths. Interventions that have reduced CVD deaths will be compared with interventions that are available to reduce suicide in terms of effectiveness and cost. The available tools for "suicide care" have comparable effectiveness and cost to effective CVD interventions. We should focus on improved use of these effective tools.
