The Farmer Angel Network and similar agencies are spreading to other communities throughout the state of Wisconsin and bringing resources from outside sources, including social workers, agricultural educators, economic development consultants, and pastors to help address farmers’ mental health. Simultaneously, there has been an influx of money from the federal government in support of programs like The Farmer Angel Network. “The U.S. Agriculture Department allocated more than $2.3 million for special initiatives that will, in part, expand emergency hotlines and support groups. Wisconsin legislators approved $200,000 in September to boost programs addressing farmers’ mental health and financial issues.”
