Several faculty and staff from the Mountain Plains Mental Health Technology Transfer Center spoke at the Dakota Conference on Rural and Public Health, hosted in Minot, North Dakota. The Dakota Conference provides an opportunity for over 300 healthcare professionals, educators, and students to share strategies for building and sustaining healthy communities in North Dakota and boarder states. It includes two and one half days of pre-conference workshops, keynote speakers, breakout sessions, poster presentations, evening workshops, and an awards banquet.

At this year’s conference, Mountain Plains MHTTC team members hosted a buzz session discussing rural mental health and resources available at the MHTTC, and presented on the topics of rural mental health stigma, North Dakota mental health training and technical assistance needs, and suicide prevention strategies for primary care.
