In order to improve access to mental health treatment and engagement for this population, mental health service providers need to be better equipped to provide culturally competent care. The second part of this presentation will provide an overview of the main cultural idioms of distress among Hispanic and Latino communities. Also, will explain how mental health providers can use the Cultural Formulation Interview as a resource to create case conceptualizations that are culturally competent with the Hispanic and Latino populations.
