Meet the Team: Holly Gursslin, Senior Program Coordinator
My name is Holly Gursslin Beseda and I am a Child Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator for the South Southwest MHTTC. I also assist on School Mental Health initiatives.
I joined the Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health (TIEMH) in 2016 and continue to love the motivating atmosphere of dedicated colleagues working to better the lives of others.
Prior to joining the South Southwest MHTTC, I focused my efforts on providing Training and Technical Assistance (TA) to the state of Texas around quality early childhood initiatives. Before TIEMH I worked in various for and non-profits developing and enhancing mental health programs and services for children and their families that address their specific needs. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor by trade. I also volunteer for the Texas Infant Mental Health state agency.
This past year, I worked to share my skills and experience with my colleagues to build an impactful and productive TA team. I worked to build relationships with regional leaders in the child mental health arena and hosted workforce trainings. I also sat on various state-level workgroups to build and recommend policy changes in the interest of children and families. Finally, I attended conferences and events to network and identify ways to support our field.
Next year, I hope to continue to support my team with my unique knowledge of the importance and impact of the first several years of life on children and their families. I also hope to provide critical TA and research to our leaders across the region to support ongoing efforts.
I hope to raise the voice of children and youth across the region to inform policy change and services.
