Black and Latina Teens Experience Increased Mental Health Challenges During Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a range of effects on everyone’s mental health. Hispanic and Black families have been disproportionately impacted, especially in ways that extend beyond socioeconomic status or underlying health conditions. This crisis changed everyone’s way of life, but many Black and Latina girls living in Washington, DC found themselves shouldering more responsibilities at home last year while also pivoting to remote learning.
