Online Program Aims to Help Rural Montanans Access Mental Healthcare

Due to the limited access to therapists it can be difficult for rural Montanans to get the care they need. Researchers and mental health advocates in Bozeman, Montana are studying the effectiveness of Thrive, an online program intended to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, in hopes they can adjust it to better fit rural Montanans. The Thrive program provides individuals with tailored videos based on responses to a series of questions and teaches them how to use therapeutic practices to manage their mental health challenges. A youth specific pilot project is currently in the works and is expected to be ready in the fall.
