This two-day event is designed to prepare qualified professionals to equip educators with knowledge and resources to integrate trauma informed best practices into their classrooms and school communities. Day one will cover the HEARTS framework and training and day two will provide opportunities for teach-backs and facilitation practice. This course provides foundational and intermediate-level training on: trauma, biology of trauma, complex trauma and attachment and the impact on cognition and learning, cultural humility and understanding racial stress as a form of trauma and fostering resiliency in students and adults. Content is tailored for application in the education setting. Two free consultation and coaching sessions will also be provided after the training to support the transformation of knowledge, discuss challenges and share successes.

The target audience is special and genderal education teachers, school health/mental health professionals, school administrators, paraprofessionals, and others who work in the education setting who have experience with trauma interventions and/or trauma informed settings.
