MHTTC Impact Awards

As our grant comes to an end on September 29, 2024, we wanted to recognize the impactful efforts each of our 10 Regional Centers have made over the last 6 years. Each Center received two MHTTC Impact Awards for their work across the general mental health and school mental health fields. The awards for each Center are detailed below.

Central East MHTTC

The Central East MHTTC received an award for service in promoting excellence in behavioral healthcare for Black Americans, including suicide prevention among Black American boys and girls. They also received an award for uplifting cultural inclusiveness and equity in schools through the Cultural Inclusiveness and Equity WISE (Well-Being Information and Strategies for Educators) online course.

Great Lakes MHTTC

The Great Lakes MHTTC received an award for service in promoting EBP implementation and practice change via process improvement, including through NIATx Change Leader Academies. They also received an award for supporting the mental health literacy of educators and school staff by providing implementation guidance for Classroom WISE, the Classroom WISE Discussion Guide, and the Integrating Classroom WISE 3-part learning series.

Mid-America MHTTC

The Mid-America MHTTC received an award for service in promoting integrated pediatric primary care, including through the Coming Home to Primary Care Series, implementation manual, and online courses. They also received an award for promoting best practices in school crisis prevention and intervention through the Crisis Planning Learning Community, School Mental Health Provider Learning Community, and the Expect the Unexpected: Preparing for Crises in Schools learning series.

Mountain Plains MHTTC

The Mountain Plains MHTTC received an award for service in promoting rural mental health, including farm stress and provider wellbeing for the rural workforce. They also received an award for building resources and services for rural and Tribal school mental health, including the Promoting Positive Mental Health in Rural Schools and Strengthening Resilience Among Indigenous Youth toolkits, and support of the Tribal AWARE Learning Community.

New England MHTTC

The New England MHTTC received an award for service in promoting recovery-oriented behavioral health systems of care, including TA on person-centered recovery planning. They also received an award for service in nurturing compassionate and empathetic school communities, including the HEART Collective, C-TLC Fellowship Program, and the Cultivating Compassionate School Communities online course.

Northeast & Caribbean MHTTC

The Northeast & Caribbean MHTTC received an award for service in increasing EBPs for serious mental illness, including intensive TA and online courses for Illness Management & Recovery (IMR), Supported Housing, and Supported Employment/Education. They also received an award for ensuring accessibility of training and resources in Spanish to support Spanish-speaking school mental health providers and communities in the Northeast & Caribbean region and beyond.

Northwest MHTTC

The Northwest MHTTC received an award for service in providing intensive technical assistance on implementing EBPs for psychosis, including work in CBTp and Assertive Community Treatment. They also received an award for promoting positive school climates and strategies for addressing mental health disparities and advancing mental health equity in schools, including through four annual Virtual Speaker Series.

Pacific Southwest MHTTC

The Pacific Southwest MHTTC received an award for service in promoting effective mental health services for youth and young adults (YYA) of transition age, including a youth peer summit, and trauma-informed youth peer support training. They also received an award for responding to needs related to crisis and grief, through the Grief Readiness Lab, SMH Crisis Leadership Lessons Guide, Crisis Readiness, Response, and Recovery Series, and three national Grief Sensitivity Virtual Learning Institutes.

South Southwest MHTTC

The South Southwest MHTTC received an award for service in increasing clinical skills for Early Psychosis and growing peer support specialists, including through your annual FEP conference and Peer Support Workforce Project. They also received an award for supporting the MHTTC-AWARE TA Partnership and addressing Project AWARE TA needs, including the Dare To Lead Training Retreat, Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART), and the In-Person MHTTC-AWARE Workshop.

Southeast MHTTC

The Southeast MHTTC received an award for service in promoting excellence in public mental health, including the CCBHC Learning Community and the Mental Health Data Visualization Project. They also received an award for partnering with state education and mental health leaders to promote and address school mental health policy and financing issues through the development of infographics, reports, and learning sessions.
