National Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2021

The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) promotes National Eating Disorders Awareness Week every year. This year NEDAW falls on February 22nd through February 28th. Their mission is to take this week to educate the public, spread hope for those in recovery and their families, and provide resources that can help save lives.

Our partners at the National Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders (NCEED) are the nation’s first center of excellence dedicated to eating disorders. Founded in 2018 by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, their mission is to advance education and training of healthcare providers and to promote public awareness of eating disorders and eating disorder treatment.

Based at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NCEED includes clinicians, researchers, and advocates who specialize in eating disorder care and are committed to providing up-to-date, reliable, and evidence-based information.

Their goal is to ensure that all individuals with eating disorders are identified, treated, and supported in recovery. Though eating disorders are serious conditions, they can be identified and treated effectively – particularly when providers and the public have the knowledge and skills necessary to make a difference.

Join the NCEED for their upcoming webinar titled, Assessing the Growth in Children and Adolescents for the Screening, Treatment, and Prevention of Eating Disorders on March 5, 1-2pm EST.
