Statistics show that suicide continues to be a leading cause of death in the United States, particularly in the Rocky Mountain region. Physicians and primary care staff are the most common point of contact for individuals struggling with their mental health. This training examines concerns within the clinical setting about suicide risk, assessment, and intervention. Using the Suicide Prevention Toolkit for Primary Care Practices as a guide, participants will learn about the assessment tools PHQ and Columbia, how to ask someone if they are considering suicide, and other intervention strategies.
