This presentation will provide an introduction to the assessment and treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Event Description
It will include general information about the diagnosis, common symptoms that parents may raise during office visits, and tools to help providers with diagnosis. The session will also outline the current gold-standard treatment options, with particular focus on the behavioral strategies that are effective in treating symptoms of ADHD.

Andrea Temkin-Yu, Psy.D.

Andrea Temkin-Yu, Psy.D., is an Attending Psychologist and Assistant Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine. She is a licensed psychologist with expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety, depression, attention-deficit, and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and related conditions. She offers individual and group therapy for children, teens, and young adults. She is a certified therapist in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and offers therapy and groups for parents of youth exhibiting mood or behavioral difficulties. Dr. Temkin-Yu is a member of the Youth Anxiety Center at Weill Cornell Medicine where she participates in clinical care and research focused on youth and young adult populations. Her research has centered on ways to improve accessibility of services provided to parents and families, as well as the use of evidence-based practices across disorders.
