Legislators to Iron out Logistics of Remote 'Telemedicine' for Rural South Dakotans

In 2015, South Dakota declared a state of emergency following a sequence of youth suicides on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. A recent summer study program on telehealth and telemedicine within the state legislature highlighted poor access to mental health services as a major contributing factor. Discusses bills passed earlier this year to improve access to mental health services via telehealth.
