The following resources are learning and development tools for individuals serving persons with mental health disorders. Resources include toolkits, webinar recordings, and upcoming trainings.

 

 

AgriSafe Network
AgriSafe is a national nonprofit membership organization that represents health professionals and educators who strive to reduce health disparities (including mental health disparities) among the agricultural community. The website provides several resources, trainings, and health curriculum.


Behavioral Health Training Partnership

The Behavioral Health Training Partnership (BHTP) offers a variety of self-paced, online courses. Certain courses are free to anyone, and all available online courses are free to BHTP members. Participants will be tested throughout the courses via a series of quiz questions. Upon successful completion of a course, BHTP will provide a certificate of continuing education hours.


Critical Crossroads: Pediatric Mental Health Care in the Emergency Department
The number of children seeking care for a mental health crisis in an emergency department is on the rise. With often limited mental health services, hospitals in rural areas bear an excessive burden. This toolkit can better prepare hospital emergency departments to manage and coordinate care for children and adolescents in mental health crisis. You can tailor the resources to your specific needs, patient population, and community. This is a product of the Health Resources and Services Administration.


Cultivating Resilience in Rural Communities Toolkit
This toolkit, developed by the Upper Midwest Agriculture Safety and Health Center was developed to support conversations on stress and mental health in the agricultural community.


The Farmer Mental Health Crisis: Understanding a Vulnerable Populations
This is a one-hour webinar from 2019, provided by the American Psychological Association and Farm Aid. The webinar addresses farmer’s unique stressors, how psychologists can help, and ways to connect with the community.


Rural Health Information Hub (RHIhub) Mental Health in Rural Communities Toolkit
This toolkit provides an overview of mental health as well as an introduction to some of the unique challenges facing isolated communities. Additionally, this module will provide insight into important background information needed to implement programming and improve mental health in rural communities.


Rural Primary Care Tools and Resources for Managing Suicidal Ideation During COVID-19
COVID-19 has created additional stress on our rural and agricultural communities who were experiencing a host of stressors prior to the pandemic. This webinar offered tools for primary care providers working in rural areas to address concerns about a possible increase in deaths by suicide.


Tips for Using Videoconferencing to Deliver SUD Treatment and Recovery Services
This webinar provides an overview of the essentials of videoconferencing with patients/peers, including a clinical/support session checklist, a review of legal, ethical, and patient/peer safety concerns, and privacy/security and confidentiality issues.
