988 is the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline network.
Join us at this month's Workshop Wednesday, as we welcome Charles Smith,PhD, MA, SAMHSA Regional Administrator, Region 8, as he presents an update on the status of 988, including the difference between 988 and 911, models for how 988 can work in your community, and additional state resources.
We will leave time for Q & A after the training or you may send your questions to Genevieve Berry at [email protected] prior to the training.
