About this Resource: The Southeast MHTTC Newsletter highlights upcoming events and recently released products as well as shares information on available resources from SAMHSA and the MHTTC network.  The November 2022 issue recognizes Native American Heritage Month, highlights our upcoming events, celebrates efforts being done by Region IV states, and provides resources available through the MHTTC Network and SAMHSA to connect individuals to needed treatment and support. 

The November issue of Northwest News provides information on Native American Heritage Month, National Family Caregivers Month, Veterans Day, and other observances throughout the month. We also include information on an upcoming MHTTC webinar titled Intersectionality of the Transitioning Veteran, upcoming SAMHSA and partner events, online courses, free resources, and our latest podcast episode on Social Justice and Inclusion.

  The Great Lakes Current is the e-newsletter of the Great Lakes ATTC, MHTTC, and PTTC.   The October 2022 issue closes out our celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month (observed Sept.15-Oct.15) with new episodes of the Checking In Podcast. This issue also features information and resources that support National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and National Bullying Prevention Month. You will also find links to all the upcoming events and trainings for the Great Lakes ATTC, MHTTC, and PTTC. 

The October issue of Northwest News provides information on Mental Illness Awareness Week, Substance Abuse Prevention Month, and other observances throughout the month. We also include information on upcoming MHTTC, SAMHSA and partner events, a new online course, free resources, and a survey for providers using telehealth in behavioral health services.

Welcome to the 2022-23 School Year!   There are two options for how to approach this new year. We can tiptoe quiet as a mouse, surveying our surroundings for potential dangers, pitfalls or setbacks. Or, we can step in confidently to this new year, knowing we have triumphed over some tumultuous times so we definitely got this.   We believe you’ve all got this! And, it’s not because we are overly optimistic. It is because we know you are not doing it alone. We are part of your team, providing tools and resources to help you support your students and yourselves.   As we put finishing touches on our Year 5 programming, we invite you to revisit trainings or find new-to-you resources in this issue. ABOUT THIS RESOURCE In July, the Northwest MHTTC observes Minority Mental Health Awareness Month to acknowledge the struggles faced by BIPOC individuals with mental health concerns due to racism within and beyond the mental healthcare system. We also share events happening across our network and resources on equity, peer support services in crisis care, and combating stigma.

ABOUT THIS RESOURCE In June, the Northwest MHTTC celebrates and offers resources for Pride Month, Juneteenth, PTSD Awareness Month and Men's Health Month. This newsletter also includes information on two upcoming webinar series: Suicide Awareness for LGBTQ Youth & Families, and Supporting the Mental Health of Refugee & Asylee Communities. Other topics include 988 and Early Psychosis resources, the Surgeon General's Health Worker Burnout Advisory, and a new SAMHSA Tobacco-free Toolkit for behavioral health agencies.

Our hearts are heavy for the tragedy that occurred in Uvalde, Texas on May 24, 2022. As we look towards how to cope with he experience, this newsletter brings together a selection of resources for families, educators, and professionals working with children and families.
