Rising Practices & Policies Revisited Emerging Priorities in Mental & School Mental Health

Dates: May 8 - August 14, 2023

Rising Practices & Policies Learning Series is back for its second year! Throughout Spring and Summer of 2023, we offer a no-cost, virtual, four-part learning series to provoke dialogue and discovery. Join our regional MHTTC to explore emerging issues, practices, and policies that are creative, innovative, and responsive.

This series expands on our first Rising Practices and Policies Series. We bring back the same themes to check in with where we are in our work, what we can celebrate, and where we still need to grow. We return to the same essential question that we held last year together: How can the behavioral and school mental health workforce evolve our own practices and policies to meet the evolving needs of the people and systems we serve?

Whether we serve clients (adults, young people, or children) or support the supporters as systems leaders, we come together to discover what is working now and what no longer serves us. If you were with us last year, come back to go deeper with some returning speakers and topics. If you missed last year’s sessions, come with fresh ears and eyes. The Rising Practices & Policies Series sessions explore some of the most pressing challenges we face. From 988 implementation to supporting war-impacted clients to addressing housing insecurity and mental health to workforce development, join us in conversation and connected learning.

Note

  • Each session will offer multiple speakers and will be followed by optional 30 minute discussion sessions (what we call “afterparties”) moderated by our Center’s staff.
  • All sessions are open to anyone (mental health or school mental health professionals).
  • Archived Rising Practices and Policies 2022 content will be available soon, link will be posted here.
  • Session speakers and examples shared will be from our Center’s focus area, SAMHSA Region 9 states and territories, including: Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and U.S. Pacific Islands of American Samoa, Guam, Marshall Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau.

Full panel speaker lineups to be announced shortly! Make sure you catch the announcements on our event page and by signing up for our newsletter.
