We observe World AIDS Day to bring attention to the HIV pandemic by remembering those who have died, supporting those living with HIV, increasing public knowledge, and fighting stigma.

 

Resources

  • AIDS Education and Training Center - This National Coordinating Research Center provides locally-based, tailored education, clinical consultation and technical assistance to healthcare professionals and healthcare organizations to integrate high quality, comprehensive care for those with or affected by HIV

  • Center for Disease Control and Prevention HIV Page - Offers a compilation of resources for those living with HIV as well as clinicians treating patients with HIV

  • HIV.gov - Includes a compilation of resources for HIV testing, prevention and treatment

  • University of Washington Behavioral Research Center for HIV - Funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, this center facilitates the dissemination of the latest advances in HIV research, not just within academic circles, but to HIV service providers, affected communities, and policymakers as well

  • Stigma Reduction Among People with HIV to Improve Health Outcomes - Hosted by the Northwest MHTTC, this recorded webinar presents socio-behavioral and mental health-related barriers to engagement in care for people with HIV. The presenter also discusses research to develop stigma reduction interventions to help people with HIV achieve HIV viral suppression and improve their overall quality of life.

Impaired driving includes distracted driving, driving under the influence of drugs, and drunk driving. Impaired Driving Prevention Month seeks to raise awareness of the consequences of driving while impaired in order to reduce harm and save lives.
