Mid-America MHTTC attends National Association of School Psychologists Annual Convention
Members of the Mid-America MHTTC staff recently attended the National Association of School Psychologists Annual Convention. Our team ventured to Denver, CO, February 7-10 to network, learn, and present to this year's cohort of attendees.
During the convention, our team had the opportunity to present during two sessions. The first session was a symposia featuring our School Mental Health Program Director Dr. Erika Franta. "Pediatric School Psychology: Training and Career Opportunities" featured six presenters from across the country, who spoke on the variety of options for future pediatric school psychologists.
The second session was a mini-skills presentation featuring four members of our Mid-America MHTTC team: Kaitlyn Young, PhD, Erika Franta, Phd, Mindy Chadwell, PhD, and Hannah West, PhD. "Evidence-Based Strategies for Anxiety Across a Multi-Tiered System of Support" dove into the increased number of youth displaying anxiety symptoms, and how participants could utilize assessments and interventions within a MTSS.
In addition to these sessions, the group also presented a poster: "Equipping Providers in Comprehensive School Mental Health Delivery." This poster covered data and insights gathered from the Mid-America MHTTC's School Mental Health Provider Learning Community.
