The NDE SMH Institute is a collaborative institute hosted by the Nebraska Department of Education, Nebraska MTSS Team, and the Mid-America MHTTC. This is hosted as a requirement of the NDE School Mental Health Grant, awarded to 5 selected LEAs and 13 self-selected ESUs in the state of Nebraska. The Mid-America MHTTC is responsible for providing training to participating teams. Training will include an overview of the National School Mental Health Best Practices and Implementation Guidance modules, developed in partnership between the NCSMH and the MHTTC Network. Together, teams will complete the SHAPE assessment tool in each domain, engage in strategic planning, and identify next steps. Coaching guidelines and tips will be provided to Educational Services Unit Teams in preparation for hosting their own Institute.
