Kentucky State Fact Sheet: Developed by the Southeast MHTTC, this fact sheet provides an overview of the mental health services and landscape of Kentucky.  


Mental Health Services: 


Mental Health Initiatives: 

  • Assertive Community Treatment: Designed to provide comprehensive, community-based psychiatric treatment, rehabilitation, and support to persons with serious and persistent mental illness such as schizophrenia.
  • Faith-Based Coalition Initiative: Providing training and technical assistance to faith-based organizations and establishing a network of such groups in an effort to strengthen Kentucky’s safety net. 
  • Service Members, Veterans and Their Families: Strengthen the statewide behavioral health care systems and services for these individuals. 


Mental Health Associations: 

  • Mental Health America in Kentucky: Improve the accessibility and quality of mental health services in Kentucky through advocacy with local, state and federal policy-makers, education, and promotion of research-based practices among providers.
  • NAMI Kentucky: Works across a broad array of policy and advocacy issues to advocate for effective and timely treatment to help prevent suicides, violence, homelessness, and incarceration.
  • Kentucky Suicide Prevention Group: Decreasing suicide deaths and attempts through advocacy, education, training and evaluation.
