In collaboration with the Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska (BHECN) and the University of Nebraska Medical Center's design thinking program, the Mid-America MHTTC proudly co-hosted a two day summit focused on addressing issues in behavioral health workforce development.

Over the course of the two days, participants split into groups and dove into the issues facing the industry. Through the design thinking process, teams used empathetic research, creative brainstorming, collaboration, and prototyping skills to identify challenges, gather information, and refine ideas. Tables filled with people talking over experiences, participants placed Post-It notes filled with ideas on poster boards, and ideas swirled around the room. To cap off the summit, each group presented their findings to the room.

This is the second design thinking summit hosted by the Mid-America MHTTC. To learn more about design thinking, visit UNMC's Design Thinking page
