The Mid-America MHTTC's series, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders: Diagnosis, Treatment, and Other Considerations, is now available as an enduring continuing education material. This opportunity will expire on Sept. 4, 2024.

This series is for case managers, counselors, peer specialists, behavioral specialists, therapists, and nurses that may work with pregnant people. It was presented by Dr. Marianela Rodriguez and Elizabeth O'Brien.

According to the course description, "About 1 in 5 of all birthing parents will experience a perinatal mental health condition, yet very few receive adequate treatment. This can result in short- and long-term adverse effects for the development of the baby, the birthing parents, and the family. In this webinar series, experts in the field will provide an overview of common perinatal mental health conditions, risk factors, screening tools and treatment available for this population." Session topics include Anxiety in the Perinatal Period, Psychotic Disorders in the Perinatal Period, Depression in the Perinatal Period, and Treatment and Other Consideration in the Perinatal Period.

To receive continuing education credit, participants must view the entire presentation (videos and slides are available online), complete a post-test score with a grade above 80%, and complete an online evaluation. These instructions, learning objectives for each session, and much more can be found on the series homepage
