2022 Events 

  • Region 6 Peer Support Spotlight Series
    January - November 2022
    The South Southwest MHTTC, in collaboration with the Region 6 Peer Support Advisory Committee are so excited to bring to you the Region 6 Peer Support Spotlight Series, a webinar series which will highlight the efforts and accomplishments that Region 6 peer support leaders are carrying out in their respective states (Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana) and/or their communities. This speakers will feature experts in their field and explore topics such as the statewide infrastructure, harm reduction teams, and peer recovery. 
     
  • Mindful Self-Compassion for Educators
    April 2022 
    The South Southwest MHTTC is hosting a a Mindful Self-Compassion training for Educators that will take place over the course of six weeks. In the event that timelines do not work out, those who are interested will have priority for any rescheduled date, if necessary. Mindful Self-Compassion for Educators is a 6-week online course.  This training is designed for educators, caregivers, and those who work in service of young people. Both beginners and those with significant mindfulness experience find this training deeply impactful.
     
  • The Cultural Formulation Interview (CFI): A Collaborative Storytelling Approach to Clinical Care
    March - April 2022 
    The CFI provides the opportunity of a clinical storytelling process between the client and the provider where cultural humility centers the understanding of mental health. Join us on this four sessions webinar series where we will bring the creators and developers of this Evidence-Based Practice together to discuss and share insights, resources, and recommendations on how to use the principles of the CFI while working with adults, children, adolescents, and families. The first two sessions are framed on a general overview of the CFI, the second two sessions will focus on a more clinical application for different populations.

  • SMART Resiliency Training 
    May - August 2021
    A four-module structured program including a webinar and cohort classes to be trained in SMART (Stress Management and Resiliency Training), an innovative, modern, uplifting, and highly scalable approach to enhance individual resilience, developed by Dr. Amit Sood at Mayo Clinic
     
  • Creating Supportive Environments for LGBTQIA2+ Students and Staff in Schools 
    October - December 2021
    A four-part webinar series dedicated to supporting the LGBTQIA2+ community, hosted on October 28th through December 14th. This webinar series brought professionals from the school mental health field to share knowledge, lived experiences, affirming practices, and resources to create supportive spaces for the LGBTQIA2+ community in schools in our region.
