About Scattering CJ
The newly-released documentary Scattering CJ follows one family's experience of a loved one's death by suicide. After reaching out for support, thousands of people answer a mother's call to be a part of carrying on her son's memory in an unexpected way.
Following the one-hour film, Tanya Carter, Suicide Prevention Unit Supervisor from the Minnesota Department of Health, and Kate Erickson, Quality Improvement Director at MACMHP, will provide an opportunity for reflection and discussion. Tanya will provide concrete ideas about postvention–how to support families and communities following a death by suicide.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Summarize the narrative of the documentary, Scattering CJ
• List three strategies for postvention (following a death by suicide)
