Southeast Mental Health Data: Rurality and Mental Health Care Access

Rurality

About this Resource:

Region IV is the largest HHS region, comprised of eight states and 26% of the U.S. population. These states have large rural populations which tend to have reduced access to mental health care.  Assessing the availability and accessibility of mental health services, in particular evidence-based practices, for rural residents can be challenging.

The Southeast MHTTC Data Visualization Project provides information on Region IV priorities in an easy to understand graphical format.
