The Hispanic and Latinx community is the fastest growing minority group in the United States making up approximately 16% of the total population. Despite being the largest minority population in the country, lack of access to health care and health insurance remains prominent issues for this community. This workshop will give an overview of the Hispanic and Latinx community, look at barriers in terms of access to health care and health insurance, and how to effectively address the healthcare needs of the Hispanic and Latinx population. As the Hispanic and Latinx population continues to grow, it is crucial to not only understand these barriers, but also create solutions for the well-being of current and future generations.
Participants will:

2. Understand the factors that contribute to the barriers around healthcare access for the Hispanic and Latinx communities.
3. Know the health insurance enrollment process for Immigrants.
4. Locate resources to assist this population in enrolling and accessing healthcare.
