DBT in Schools: Admin & Stakeholders Training; DBT STEPS-A; DBT-Informed Counseling Strategies (CLOSED EVENT)

This opportunity includes the following components for the selected districts:

  • A three-day DBT STEPS-A curriculum training
  • A DBT-informed counseling strategies training
  • A special training session for administrators & stakeholders

DBT STEPS-A is an emotional problem-solving curriculum based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy. It is designed for adolescents to teach skills for emotion management, interpersonal communication, and decision-making.

  • Lessons are manualized and led by classroom teachers, creating acommon language for student mental wellness in the heart of the school's culture.
  • The STEPS-A curriculum is anupstream approach to mental wellness. DBT in Schools developed a solution to bring mental wellness strategies to schools that educate the whole child—not just the academic child.

The Great Lakes MHTTC is offering this training for individuals working in HHS Region 5: IL, IN, MI, MN, OH, WI. This training is being provided in response to a need identified by Region 5 stakeholders.
