School Mental Health Funding-Overview of 31n

A presentation of the 2021 Virtual Community Mental Health Association of Michigan (CMHAM) Annual Winter Conference.

In recent years, the Governor and State Legislators have allocated funds to support student mental health in schools across the state. Prior to COVID, the mental health needs of young people were significant and have continued to increase with the ongoing pandemic. Virtual learning, along with other societal and political unrest have exacerbated anxiety, trauma, loss, and uncertainty experienced by everyone but especially our youth. Join us for this engaging presentation as we discuss ways that state funds are being used to help address these mental health needs of students.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. Gain knowledge of the state allocated 31n funds.
2. Learn about ways they can be involved in these initiatives.
3. increase their understanding of ways schools are working to support student mental health.
