The HEART Collective—a group of leaders in education, healthcare, and lived experience advocacy in New England—discussed barriers to collaboration school-based mental health services and systems between schools and healthcare centers, mental and behavioral health agencies, community-based organizations, and other entities in committee-style meetings. In these discussions, leaders shared how their schools and organizations overcame these barriers and developed recommendations to support systems and individuals in working towards more effective collaborations. This document summarizes the findings of the HEART Collective on how to overcome these barriers to collaboration.
