Motivational interviewing is an evidence-based technique for engaging ambivalent patients in conversations about behavior change. Dr. Kline presents her research on adapting motivational interviewing for family caregivers of adolescents and young adults with first episode psychosis and other mental health and substance use disorders.
Dr. Emily Kline is a clinical psychologist and assistant professor of psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine. She serves as the Director of Psychological Services for the Wellness and Recovery After Psychosis team and leads the Motivational Interviewing for Loved Ones lab at Boston Medical Center.
